...Paul was born and raised in Long Beach, California. From the age of three he has had an unquenchable thirst for musical exploration. Even at that young age, Paul could be heard thoughtfully picking out melodies on a friend's piano.

...Then, at the age of eight, his parents invested in a piano and the lessons began. Under the tutelage of Mala Baker, herself a graduate of the Royal College of Music, London, Paul was trained in the classics. In his mid-teens he was performing such pieces as Gershwin's "Rhapsody In Blue", Beethoven's "Sonata Pathétique", and Chopin's "Revolutionary Etude". Mala was also the first to introduce him formally to Jazz. She began to realize his musical interests were broader than most, and found him an additional teacher to instruct him in music theory and composition. This greatly expanded his musical universe.

...From this springboard he began composing all manner of music. Inspired by a great spectrum of artists and styles ranging from Romantic Classics to the Beatles, from Miles Davis to The Beach Boys, from Earth, Wind, & Fire to Steely Dan and Frank Zappa, it seemed that Paul needed to do it all. This would serve him well later on as he progressed to composing orchestral underscore, orchestral library music, and also music for ensembles.

...Paul was continually playing in bands from the age of fourteen, performing rock and jazz primarily, since he loved them both. At age seventeen he felt a real need to learn more and expose himself directly to accomplished artists of the day. For a couple of years he and a friend (at the time under-age) managed to get into jazz clubs such as the Lighthouse in Hermosa Beach, where they got to know accomplished jazz musicians including the likes of Joe Sample from the "Crusaders", and fine pianists such as Jack Wilson. These artists were always willing to give pointers, and even lessons at times.

...Shortly after high-school Paul began touring, which continued for many years. While living in Chicago for three years, he also performed solo jazz piano as the opening act for such artists as George Shearing, Stanley Turrentine, and Jean-Luc Ponty at the famous jazz club "Ratso's". All this while studying advanced jazz piano with Alan Swain. On returning to Los Angeles he began playing session dates as a keyboard player. But even all of this did not completely satisfy Paul's innate need to explore music more deeply.

...Then came the technology! At the advent of computer generated music, the possibilities for him multiplied exponentially. And when the instrument sampling technology advanced by leaps and bounds, all the instruments of the world were now available at his fingertips! This was the biggest turning point of his creative life. A fine grand piano was added to the studio in 2005 to complement the multiple computers and advanced sample libraries already in place. Paul has been completely rejuvenated and exhilarated musically ever since.

...With the ability to create most all styles of music, from solo piano, to electronic and on to full orchestra, Paul fits very well into the scoring and library areas of music production. His current work includes being a member of the powerful 4Kids Entertainment composer team, with his music being nationally broadcast every week on the Fox network. He is also currently working on his own piano CD, creating movie trailer orchestrations, and producing and arranging music for Lady Mac, the fine jazz/blues guitarist and vocalist.

...In his quest to constantly improve himself, Paul's music always has a fresh excitement and polish that is beyond the ordinary. His artistic signature is evident in all the styles of music he composes and arranges.
